About The Artist

Art has always been a part of my life and is in my blood!  It was not only my best friend but a way of escape.  As a child and through my teenage years you could find me either painting or drawing whether it was on my tennis shoes or my walls.

It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized that art wasn’t just a creative outlet but it was so much more.  It was my voice and who I am.  I started playing with polymer clay about 5 years ago.  At that point I only worked with graphite pencils.  This medium has allowed me to explore art in a way I had never expected.  I began making “art dolls” which led me to a serious “aha” moment.  I had found my bliss.

These dolls are all One of a Kind (OOAK) and made from a mix of ProSculpt and Fimo clay over a very strong 18 guage wire armature.  More importantly, not only are they whimsical but they have become my way of opening discussions on very important topics including child abuse.  I hope you enjoy my art dolls and other works.

Sincerely,
Michelle Mickle
